This wedding day will be remembered by guests for many reasons. The weather. The style. The craic. The match. That’s right, this wedding took place on the same day as one of Ireland’s euro qualifying matches. That might not be a big deal for a lot of people, but for this sports mad . . . and in particular . . . soccer mad groom and groomsmen, this was a mighty big deal. I love when a major sports event is on the same day as a wedding because it adds another dimension to the day. There is an added bounce to many people’s step and twitter is on standby at all times with updates and news. So . . . you’ve heard about the match, and there we will leave it, because unlike the Irish team . . . Siobhan and John had the very best of days. Siobhan looked gorgeous and I don’t think I have every photographed a bride with such amazing posture. Seriously, she has the most graceful stance. What a weird thing to notice you might say . . . but I was watching her throughout the whole ceremony. This girl’s posture is something else. Pilates. It’s all down to pilates and if I lived in Kerry . . . I’d absolutely be signing up to Siobhan’s pilates classes.
Apart from a major sporting event, there is also something unique when photographing a wedding with guests from the south of the country. The kerry lilt is something to behold and listening to John and his groomsmen was like listening to a comedy sketch. These boys are serious craic and the kerry element to their stories, makes them even better.
Ok . . . I’m delaying you. I’ve talked about the match, pilates and the kerry accent. What about the wedding? Well it was gorgeous of course!! Siobhan and John are such a lovely couple and were such fun to photograph. Thanks for allowing me to capture some memories of your very special day. Enjoy x
